University of Anbar Organizes Awareness Seminar on Desertification and Its Environmental Impacts at the College of Basic Education – Haditha
The Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Basic Education – Haditha organized an awareness seminar entitled: "The Phenomenon of Desertification: Causes and Environmental Impacts."
The seminar addressed the main causes contributing to the worsening of desertification and its negative environmental effects both locally and globally. It also discussed ways to mitigate this phenomenon through effective environmental legislation, intensified awareness campaigns, and the adoption of sustainable policies in the fields of agriculture and water, in addition to the importance of supporting environmental scientific research.
The seminar aims to raise environmental awareness within the academic community and highlight the dangers of desertification as one of the serious environmental challenges. It also seeks to enhance the role of women in raising awareness and participating in the development of realistic and sustainable solutions to mitigate this phenomenon.
This event comes within the framework of implementing the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security – Pillar of Protection and Prevention, Paragraph Eight.
