Encouraging Women to Participate in Parliamentary Elections

The Women’s Affairs Unit at the College of Law, University of Anbar, organized an awareness seminar titled “Encouraging Women to Participate in Parliamentary Elections.”

The seminar addressed the importance of women’s participation in political life, particularly in parliamentary elections, both as voters and candidates.
It also shed light on the main challenges facing women in this field, including discrimination, political violence, societal misconceptions, and lack of institutional support. In addition, it discussed the efforts made by official and community bodies to provide a more supportive and safe environment for women’s participation.
This seminar comes as part of the implementation of the Third National Action Plan for Women, Peace, and Security — under the pillar of Participation and Institutional Reform
