 The Women's Affairs Division, in collaboration with the Center for Strategic Studies and the Continuing Education Center, organized a training course titled "Political Empowerment of Women in    Iraq" from October 22 to 24, 2024.

The training course began on the first day with two main topics. Dr. Omar Hamid Shakir delivered a lecture on "The Concept of Political Empowerment of Women," emphasizing the importance of this concept in enhancing women's participation in decision-making. He was followed by Dr. Muhammad Sami Farhan, who addressed "The Status of Women in Islam and Sharia," reviewing verses and hadiths that support women's rights and promote their role in society.
 
On the second day, the course included two legal-themed sessions. Dr. Tareq Hamid Mahmoud discussed the legal framework for the political empowerment of women in Iraq, focusing on key laws that protect their rights. In the second session, Dr. Falah Mubarak Burdan presented a study on the status of Iraqi women post-2003, highlighting the obstacles and challenges they face in their pursuit of political empowerment.
 
The course concluded on the third day with a special session on "Empowering Women in Decision-Making Processes," moderated by Dr. Mu'taz Ismail Khalaf, which included an interactive session and an assessment to evaluate what had been learned over the three days.

Anbar University Participates in the Iraqi Police Celebrations on the Occasion of its 103rd Founding Anniversary. In a move that reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between educational and security institutions in Anbar Governorate, the College of Science, represented by the Women's Affairs Unit and college students, participated in the celebration of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi Police. This participation came to confirm the important role played by the security forces in maintaining security and stability in the country, as students presented flowers to the Iraqi police in appreciation and appreciation for their great role in protecting the homeland and the citizen. During the celebration, brochures were distributed about the Iraqi police and the history of its establishment, in order to enhance awareness among students about the importance of this security apparatus in the history of Iraq. For his part, the Dean of the College of Science sent a message of thanks and appreciation to the members of the Iraqi police, praising their heroic role in maintaining the security of the homeland, stressing the importance of cooperation between educational and security institutions in building a safe and prosperous society.
