 Based on the guidelines provided by the Women's Affairs Department at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding holding awareness and guidance seminars and workshops on "Family Protection and Strengthening its Bonds," the Women's Affairs Unit at the College of Computer Science and Information Technology held an online seminar on Monday, April 22, 2024, at 9:00 PM, entitled "Information Technology and Family Dynamics: Between Integration and Disintegration." The speakers included Dr. Israa Saad Assi from the University of Baghdad's Women's Studies Center, and Dr. Dhiya Badr Al-Lami from the University of Baghdad's Department of Early Childhood Education. The session was moderated by Dr. Makarem Abdulwahid Al-Turki, the Women's Affairs Officer at the College of Computer Science.

The seminar covered several topics discussing the impact of technology on family relationships and the dynamic transformations of families, their causes, as well as discussing judicial decisions regarding cybercrimes and presenting statistics on divorce rates over the past three years in Iraqi provinces. Additionally, ways to enhance family integration and strengthen bonds in the era of technology were addressed. The final topic discussed the impact of family disintegration on children and how to protect children from cybercrimes, including child trafficking, cyberbullying, and online recruitment. The session included discussions from various academic, religious, and civil society figures. Important recommendations were made by the speakers and participants during the seminar.
