Based on the university’s principle of serving the community and under the direct supervision of the follow-up committee (reducing the phenomenon of drug abuse) headed by the Dean of the College of Education for Human Sciences, Taha Ibrahim Shabib, and in view of the increasing phenomenon of abuse and trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances and its negative impact on society, and the important role that Anbar University can play in reducing  This phenomenon

 Today, Tuesday, March 26, 2024, the College of Education for Human Sciences, in cooperation with the Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs in Anbar and the Community Police Department in the Relations and Information Department of the Ministry of Interior in Anbar Governorate, organized a field visit to the Anbar Rehabilitation Center of the General Directorate of Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances Affairs, with the aim of providing psychological support.  Social and addiction treatment for patients and their reintegration into society.

 The awareness program included a number of lectures, including: a lecture on “the psychological effects of drug abuse” and drugs and their harm to the individual and society, the role of drugs in disrupting development in societies, when a person becomes addicted, and the relationship of drug abuse to the emergence of psychological and mental disorders.

 The head of the delegation, Prof. Dr. Her Excellency Hamdi Suwaidan Al-Daraji, head of the Women’s Affairs Unit at our college, said that this is the first visit in which the College of Education for Humanities was keen to provide awareness and psychological programs to the qualifying students about the harms of drugs to raise their level of awareness based on the college’s educational and pedagogical role and to achieve the university’s mission.  Anbar in providing guidance and awareness programs under the sound guidance and continuous follow-up of the President of Anbar University, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, the esteemed.

 This visit also comes based on the role of Anbar University in serving society, and its endeavor to combat destructive behaviors among its members, instill positive behaviors and security, intellectual, and health awareness in them, and contribute to maintaining community security.

Anbar University Participates in the Iraqi Police Celebrations on the Occasion of its 103rd Founding Anniversary. In a move that reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between educational and security institutions in Anbar Governorate, the College of Science, represented by the Women's Affairs Unit and college students, participated in the celebration of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi Police. This participation came to confirm the important role played by the security forces in maintaining security and stability in the country, as students presented flowers to the Iraqi police in appreciation and appreciation for their great role in protecting the homeland and the citizen. During the celebration, brochures were distributed about the Iraqi police and the history of its establishment, in order to enhance awareness among students about the importance of this security apparatus in the history of Iraq.
