Scientific Symposium

Under the auspices of the President of Anbar University, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, the Women’s Affairs Division at the University Presidency, in cooperation with the College of Islamic Sciences, held a scientific symposium entitled (Blackmail and Electronic Harassment from the Legal Point of View) at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, 3/20/2024, in the auditorium. Abu Hanifa Al-Numan, may God have mercy on him, in the College of Islamic Sciences The symposium was attended by the Honorable President of the University, Professor Dr. Mushtaq Talib Al-Nada, the Honorable Assistant President of the University for Administrative Affairs, Professor Dr. Atheer Anwar Sharif, and the Honorable Dean of the College of Islamic Sciences, Professor Dr. Ahmed Obaid Jassim. The symposium was moderated by:


Prof. Dr. Muhammad Nabhan Ibrahim Rahim 

The following were present:

1- Prof. Dr. Abdul Rahman Hamdi Shafi: Lecturer at the College of Islamic Sciences: He spoke on the Sharia axis (blackmail and electronic harassment in Islamic Sharia).

2- Dr. Sumaya Abdullah Muhammad: Lecturer at the College of Computers and Information Technology: She spoke on the second topic (the impact of technology on the phenomenon of harassment).

3- M.M. Muhammad Muthanna Abdel Ghafour: Office of the President of the University - International Classifications Unit: He spoke on the third topic (the dangers of electronic blackmail on society) The first lecturer explained what is the rooting of the concept of blackmail and electronic harassment in Islamic law, what are its types and forms according to the legal view of it, and what is the ruling on the blackmailer or harasser in our Islamic religion.Then the second lecture talked about the impact of technology on the spread of the phenomenon of blackmail and harassment, noting that one of the most important reasons for the spread of this phenomenon is electronic technology and the many devices and websites that accompany it that are poorly used.

The third lecturer spoke about the most important dangers of electronic harassment and blackmail and the negative effects that result from the use of this phenomenon by weak souls on the individual and society alike.

The interventions, questions and comments of the attendees enriched the symposium with the useful ideas and information they provided.

Anbar University Participates in the Iraqi Police Celebrations on the Occasion of its 103rd Founding Anniversary. In a move that reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between educational and security institutions in Anbar Governorate, the College of Science, represented by the Women's Affairs Unit and college students, participated in the celebration of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi Police. This participation came to confirm the important role played by the security forces in maintaining security and stability in the country, as students presented flowers to the Iraqi police in appreciation and appreciation for their great role in protecting the homeland and the citizen. During the celebration, brochures were distributed about the Iraqi police and the history of its establishment, in order to enhance awareness among students about the importance of this security apparatus in the history of Iraq. For his part, the Dean of the College of Science sent a message of thanks and appreciation to the members of the Iraqi police, praising their heroic role in maintaining the security of the homeland, stressing the importance of cooperation between educational and security institutions in building a safe and prosperous society. Every year, the Iraqi police are well
