 Within the scientific events and activities of the College of Pharmacy for the academic year 2023-2024,  The  Pharmaceuticals and Toxicology department  in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit and the Women’s Empowerment Unit in the college organized a scientific workshop entitled:

(Misuse of Drug for Cosmetic Purpose in Iraq)

The workshop included a lecture by Dr. Younis Hammad Johan and Pharmacist Ruqayya Fahi Jawad, during which they gave a detailed explanation of common skin diseases resulting from the incorrect use of cosmetics or the use of lasers and other modern methods such as infrared waves and ultrasound, and methods for their correct use. In cosmetic surgeries, as well as health risks from misuse by non-specialized and licensed persons.

The workshop lecturers also pointed out that there are many counterfeit and unwanted cosmetics that contain corticosteroid compounds or toxic substances such as mercury and others and are sold in pharmacies and shops, which leads to the appearance of side effects and many diseases. The symposium aimed to raise health awareness and educate the community about the widespread negative phenomena regarding cosmetic surgeries of all kinds and the use of cosmetics in a safe and healthy manner.

Anbar University Participates in the Iraqi Police Celebrations on the Occasion of its 103rd Founding Anniversary. In a move that reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between educational and security institutions in Anbar Governorate, the College of Science, represented by the Women's Affairs Unit and college students, participated in the celebration of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi Police. This participation came to confirm the important role played by the security forces in maintaining security and stability in the country, as students presented flowers to the Iraqi police in appreciation and appreciation for their great role in protecting the homeland and the citizen. During the celebration, brochures were distributed about the Iraqi police and the history of its establishment, in order to enhance awareness among students about the importance of this security apparatus in the history of Iraq.
