(The role of women in society and Sharia)

Assis. Prof. Dr. Nahida Ibrahim Hammadi, a faculty member in the College of Pharmacy, and Assis. Prof. Dr. Afrah Adnan Khalil, a faculty member in the College of Pharmacy and responsible for the Women’s Empowerment Unit in the college, were present.

The symposium aimed to explain the role of women in society and Sharia, and that women are half of society in terms of formation and the whole of society in terms of influence in upbringing and formation. She is the mother, sister, wife, teacher, educator, and worker, and we must honor women by granting them all their rights so that they can engage in construction and development affairs effectively. Statistics indicate that educating women and enabling them to work has had a positive impact on the family, whether in educational, economic, or health matters. In most countries, they have become a dynamic force supporting development and transformation in society. Therefore, it is good to emphasize the importance of empowering women in order to be able to carry out their roles effectively, and what is meant by empowerment is the process that refers to women’s possession of resources and their ability to benefit from and manage them with the aim of achieving a set of achievements to advance the individual and society.
