Scientific Symposium

Under the patronage of the Honorable Dean of the College of Administration and Economics (Prof. Dr. Abdel Ali Hamad).

The Women’s Empowerment Unit at the College of Administration and Economics, in cooperation with the Women’s Empowerment Division at Anbar University, held a scientific symposium in conjunction with combating violence against women entitled ((Marital violence and its impact on the family)) on Monday, 12-4-2023. In the discussion hall, the symposium included the following topics:

1. Marital violence (its definition, causes, and types).

2.  Economic violence (its concept and manifestations).

3.  The effects of violence against women on the family, solutions to reduce domestic violence.

The symposium was attended by a number of teachers and students. The symposium received great interest from the attendees due to the importance of the issue of marital violence and the risks and harm it causes to the family, as many women suffer from the phenomenon of violence despite the laws approved by the Islamic religion to honor women and protect them from harm.  The international community and human rights organizations made many attempts to reduce the phenomenon of various types of violence, especially economic ones. The effects of violence were addressed because this phenomenon is not limited to women, but rather extends to include society as a whole. At the end of the symposium, solutions were developed in order to protect women and preserve the family institution..

Anbar University Participates in the Iraqi Police Celebrations on the Occasion of its 103rd Founding Anniversary. In a move that reflects the spirit of cooperation and solidarity between educational and security institutions in Anbar Governorate, the College of Science, represented by the Women's Affairs Unit and college students, participated in the celebration of the 103rd anniversary of the founding of the Iraqi Police.
